Printing to A1/A2 sizes on campus printers
To print in A1/A2 sizes on campus, kindly refer to the below guide. When attempting to produce prints of this size, it's crucial to be aware that campus printers lack direct compatibility for such dimensions. However, a viable workaround involves utilizing poster printing methods. Initially, for printing an image or document in this specific size, it is essential to save it as a PDF. To achieve this, navigate to File, select Export, and then choose Create PDF/XPS document. It's worth mentioning that this method is most effective for images, as printing across two/four A3-sized pages may result in text being cut in the middle. Next, choose a destination to save the exported PDF file. After completing the previous step, the PDF should open automatically. From there, click on "File," then select "Print," and the following window should emerge. Choose "Properties" and ensure that the document size is configured to A3. Confirm that the duplex/2 sided printing option is set to off, select your preferred colour settings, and then click OK. Select "Poster" under the "Page Size & Handling" section. Adjust the tile scale to accommodate the contents of your image or document. Experiment until the preview on the right side appears accurate. If the right-side image doesn't update after modifying the tile size, click in the overlap box to ensure the tile size refreshes. There isn't a fixed percentage that universally works; you'll need to experiment to determine what suits your needs. Just for reference, A2 is equal to 2 times the size of A3, and A1 is equivalent to 4 times the size of A3. Therefore, the tile size for A1 needs to be larger to span across 4 pages, as illustrated below. Once you have completed these steps, proceed to click "Print." This is the sole workaround available on site for our printers.
