Accessing and Installing Office 365
All University staff and students have access to Microsoft Office 365 for free (which includes Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) on 4 different devices including mobile devices (iOS and Android), laptops and desktops including Windows and Mac devices. Office 365 will deactivate shortly after graduation for students.

How do I install it on my devices?

Windows and Mac
- Go to the main UCB website (www.ucb.ac.uk), then select the “Student Email” link at the bottom of our home page. This will direct you to Office 365 log on page. (Alternatively you can go to portal.office.com).
- In the sign in box enter your student email address, for example AAA12345678@student.ucb.ac.uk (please see our student email guide for details regarding accessing your student email on PC and mobile devices) and then click “Next”. Now enter your student password (password used to log onto the PCs) then click on “Sign In”.
- The Office 365 portal will load once you have signed in. There will be an “Install Office” button on the right hand side towards the top, click this to install Office 365 on your device.
- When you use Office for the first time, you will need to sign in to activate the software so you can use it without interruption. Please sign in using the same details as used in step 2 and 3.
Once you have signed in, you also have access to your UCB OneDrive in the File > Save As and Open menus. You should save your work to UCB OneDrive (which is also available on your mobile devices and UCB student computers). Please see our OneDrive guide for further details.
iOS, Android and Chromebook
- Go to the Apple App store or Google play store, search for Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Once downloaded open up the app and sign in using your student email address AAA12345678@student.ucb.ac.uk and your student password to access all the features each app provides.
