SolidWorks Installation Guide (for UCB Students)
Note: Before starting the installation, contact Tsajid@ucb.ac.uk to request your serial number. Keep this number safe — you’ll enter it during installation.
Step 1 — Access the Download Page
Step 2 — Fill Out Your Details
- Complete the registration form.

Important: Use your UCB student email address when registering (e.g. studentid@student.ucb.ac.uk).
- Select version 2024 (SP5.0)
- Click Request Download
Note: You will also receive an email from SolidWorks containing the information and instructions.
Step 3 — Accept Terms and Download
- Read and accept the license terms and conditions.
- Click the Download button at the next step to begin downloading the installation files.
Step 4 — Unzip the Files
- After the download finishes, locate and open the downloaded file.
- Choose where you want the files to be saved.
- Click Unzip and wait for the process to complete.
- Select install on this computer and click next
Step 5 — Enter the serial number you received from Tsajid@ucb.ac.uk
Step 6 — Install SolidWorks
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Choose default options unless you need specific custom settings.
- Complete the installation
Step 7 — Activate SolidWorks
7.1 — Start the Activation Wizard
- When you first launch SolidWorks, the Product Activation window will appear.
- Select “I want to activate my SOLIDWORKS product now”.
- Click Next.
7.2 — On Activate/Deactivate Product screen:
- Enter your UCB student email address in the contact information field.
- Click Next.
7.3 — Confirmation
- You should now see a “Activation Successful” screen.
- Click Finish to complete the process.
